Janki Temple(Janki mandir)

Hi friends this is a picture of Janaki Temple. Commenly called as Janki Mandir.It has got great historical value in the history of mithila. Janakpur is the birth palce of Godess Sita. Who married with Ram the son of Dasrath. Jankimandir was built by a muslim queen of India(Tikamgadh).Her name was Brishbhanu. It was built more than 100 years ago. The total cost to make the temple was 9 lakha (also called as naulakha mandir). It is belived that the queen Brishbhanu had no child so she prayd with godess sita if she will have child she would build a temple there.Jankimandir not only hold its importance at local level and national level it is equally important at international level.Thousnads and thousands of people visit Jankimandir yearly. Mostly in the time of Bibah Panchami.It is the time of marriage of Godess Sita with God Ram.
